Dating back to 1858, the building was once the official residence of the island’s Governor. Today, the Old Government House still retains many beautiful original features and a timeless charm and elegance. The building has been lovingly restored and sympathetically refurbished, incorporating the modern facilities of a luxury hotel.

The Olive Grove, the deck and the outdoor heated pool offer wonderful views over the gardens and the harbour. The state-of-the-art Revolution Health Club is Guernsey's most exclusive private gym. Each room and suite has been carefully designed to reflect the hotel's rich history and its elegant original character. The rooms boast stylish, classical décor throughout.

Food & beverage

The hotel has 2 distinctive restaurants: the intimate Governor's restaurant offers fine dining, while the French-style OGH Brasserie is more informal.

The hotel offers excellent cuisine and world-class dining. The Old Government House has received a Gold Award from VisitGuernsey and 2 AA Rosettes for the outstanding preparation of its food and the good quality of the ingredients it uses.

Each dish is prepared using the freshest of local and Continental ingredients.

Lunch is served from 12.00 until 14:30 and dinner is served from 19:30 until 22:30. Reservations are recommended.

The hotel bar opens at 10.00 and closes at 23.00.

Room service is available 24 hours a day.

Area information

The Little Chapel (6.5 km) - Started by Brother Déodat in 1914, this small but beautiful chapel is covered in shells, pebbles and china pieces.

Sausmarez Manor (4.5 km) - Here you can play pitch and putt, travel on the little train, or walk through the gardens.

Travel information

By Car (from Guernsey Airport):
- From the airport, turn left onto Route des Landes / Forest Road.
- Follow the road down to La Rue des Cachée, turn left (traffic lights).
- Follow the road down to Le Mount Row, where you turn right, then left into
Queens Road, and right into Grange Road.
- Follow Grange Road down, past Elizabeth College on your left, and turn right
into Ann’s Place, just before the set of traffic lights.
- The hotel is on your left-hand side.
